Teaching at PCA

It is the goal of Providence Creek Academy to be the best place to learn and the best place to work. In order to do this, PCA must surround its students with the highest quality faculty with the skills needed to ensure every child is prepared for the 21st century learning and working environments. This extends far beyond the classroom setting since it takes all members of the PCA faculty to create a successful school.

Aspiring Teachers

 

PCA partners with local universities and colleges to provide opportunities for aspiring teachers to enter the profession without completing a traditional educator preperation program.

Teacher Residency

 In conjunction wiith a Resident's university, Residents are placed with a mentor teacher to co-teach throughout the school year in an inclusive classroom while completing his/her education. Residents gain hands on experience in classroom preperation, planning, conferences, classroom management, and professional development.

Alternative Routes to Certification

Individuals with a Bachelor's Degree are eligible to complete a State of Delaware approved ARTC program. ARTC applicants complete graduate courses while working as a teacher of record for two years. Upon program completion, the applicant is a fully credentialed teacher in his/her content area in the State of Delaware.
